The honest answer nobody writes: Ascent is the least differentiated ship in the class. She is Beyond's hull, tonnage, capacity, cabin mix and venue list. We could not source a single room that exists on Ascent and on no other Edge Class ship, and guides who have sailed both describe only minor layout updates. If a source tells you Ascent is meaningfully different from Beyond, ask them to name the room.
Her genuine claim to distinction
THE LAST OF HER KIND
- The newest ship with EdenXcel deleted Eden and the Rooftop Garden Grill entirely. Ascent is therefore the last and newest Edge Class ship on which you can still experience both — which, if the three-deck glass room is what drew you to this class, is the whole argument
- The full Gen 2 kitLe Voyage, the two-storey Sunset Bar, World Class Bar, the two-level Retreat with its cantilevered plunge pools, and the 110-ft LED theatre wall
- Newer hardwareher real advantages over Beyond are age-related — fresher soft goods and a later-generation connectivity fit — not architectural
- ProductionsAwaken · Bridges · Residency
What sailing her actually costs
2026 SPECIALTY DINING
- Fine CutUS$120 pp
- Raw on 5US$40 + gratuity
- Le Petit ChefUS$37 + gratuity
- The trendBeyond-era listings for the same tier of venue sat around $45. Specialty dining pricing has climbed hard across the class — budget on current figures, not on what you paid last time
HONESTLY — two complaints recur. First, the Retreat Lounge is not a sociable room — there is no seating around the bar, and repeat guests compare it unfavourably with older Celebrity ships. Second, one detailed 2026 account reports a persistent nightly noise in an aft Deck 7 cabin, with Celebrity issuing future cruise credit; aft-low cabins on the stretched hulls are worth avoiding. Beyond that, she inherits every Beyond gripe — and for repeat guests the real complaint is that there is no reason to choose Ascent over Beyond except itinerary and price.
