Beyond is where the Edge Class stops being a refinement exercise and becomes a different ship. The hull was cut and lengthened by twenty metres — sixty-six feet — and a whole guest deck was added. She also carries a fleet first that has nothing to do with design: Beyond was the first Celebrity ship fitted with Starlink.
What the extra deck actually bought
THE CONCRETE ANSWER
- The Retreat, rebuiltthe lounge moved from an interior Deck 5 room to Deck 15 forward with panoramic sea views, and the whole enclave became one stacked three-deck complex instead of three disconnected rooms. The single biggest quality-of-life change in the class
- Sundeck doubledfrom one level to two (Decks 16 and 17), with a round pool plus two cantilevered plunge pools hanging over the side
- Resort Deck +40%and the Rooftop Garden about 20% larger, with windbreaks designed in from the start
- Sunset Bar ×2two storeys, roughly twice the size — and Nate Berkus's first actually-designed room in the class, done as a modern-day Casablanca
- Le Voyage50 seats, the first restaurant Daniel Boulud has designed for a cruise ship, in a room by Jouin Manku with illuminated semi-sheer screens and seating cocoons. There was simply no space for it in the shorter hull
- World Class Bara premium cocktail bar developed with Diageo — a fleet first, and not present on Edge or Apex
The theatre changes character
THE LED WALL ARRIVES
- 110-ft curved 4K LEDwrapping the stage, with five moving panels and integrated floor projection so imagery runs floor to ceiling as one surface
- Scene dissolves, not revealsthe environment changes instantly and continuously without stopping the action, and it is bright enough to play with the house lights up

THE TRADE NOBODY MENTIONS — the stretch added guests faster than tonnage: space per berth drops from about 44.8 on Edge to 43.4 here, so busier public rooms are a structural consequence rather than bad luck. Panoramic Ocean View cabins were cut from 28 to 12, and true walk-out balconies stayed at 94 — meaning the stretch added zero conventional-balcony cabins for 342 more guests. AquaClass, meanwhile, jumped from 116 to 163, a 40% rise that Blu did not grow to match.
